Climate Change
David Snyder for CRS
Earth's eight hottest years have occurred within the last decade. Rising temperatures, abnormal fluctuations in precipitation, increases in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters and degradation of natural resources are the "new normal." The poor and marginalized are suffering the most from the consequences of climate change, and the effects are expected to worsen.
Catholic Relief Services is playing an important role in reducing the impact of climate change through prevention, adaptation, mitigation and disaster risk management.
