CRS launches 50 e-books for iPad, Kindle and other mobile devices

Photo: Apple.comCatholic Relief Services is pleased to release 50 technical publications as e-books. Unlike PDFs, e-books have reflowable text, allowing words and images to fit comfortably on small screens. Aid and development workers who have limited space in their luggage can carry a library of resources in a single tablet. Researchers who would like to search CRS’ publications for keywords, quotes and documentation can now do so with their mobile devices.
 

CRS’ e-books are available in two formats: EPUB (for Apple iPad, Barnes & Noble Nook, Sony Reader and Android devices) and MOBI (for Amazon Kindle). Users who have a computer but not a mobile device can open EPUB files by downloading and installing free programs such as Adobe Digital Editions, Calibre, EPUBReader and Mobipocket.

To begin, download an EPUB or MOBI file from CRS' e-book library and transfer the file to your mobile device. If your tablet has a web browser, you can download e-books directly to your device instead.
