Using mobile phones for data collection to support OVC in Tanzania

A pilot project in the Arusha Region has enhanced the quality and effectiveness of CRS OVC programming through a unique mobile application. Using cell phones, the community volunteers have been able to input quality data into forms housed on their cell phones.The information is captured, synthesized, and is easy to analyze in a database that available to staff and partners, including the Tanzanian government. CRS partnered with D-Tree International, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of care by using hand-held technology.
