Using Vouchers in Burkina Faso
Responding to Flood, Drought and the Food Price Crisis
Vouchers can be exchanged for food, seed, shelter, livestock, fertilizer, or other livelihoods needs. They enable vulnerable populations to choose commodities they need; they boost local economies; they are flexible and so can be used in both rural and urban economies. This poster outlines CRS’ voucher-based response to rising food prices in Burkina Faso. This poster was presented at CRS’ Holistic Innovations in Agriculture Programming Symposium, held in Washington D.C. on April 20, 2009.
