The CRS transitional shelter program aims to support families as they move from tents to temporary wooden shelters. These shelters provide a safer, more comfortable and more durable place to live while families rebuild their homes or find new places to rent. This booklet provides advice to families about how to maintain transitional shelters.

The Guide focuses on how to implement community based disaster preparedness programs (CBDP), with tools and recommendations for facilitating CBDP planning and implementation. The Guide focuses on natural disasters, such as floods, landslides and cyclones. It is based on experiences in India and South Asia, and can be adapted for other areas if necessary.
This set of training modules are to ensure that all CRS staff have a shared level of understanding of what is meant by protection. The training modules are designed to complement other CRS initiatives, including the Justice/Solidarity Lens training; IHD; and ProPack I and ProPack II. Additionally, the Modules have been designed to support the methodologies advanced under Sphere and Do No Harm approaches.

A set of basic guidelines on how to be accountable to local people and measure program impact in emergency situations. The "good enough" approach emphasizes simple and practical solutions and encourages the user to choose tools that are safe, quick, and easy to implement.
